Nocturne has his place as a carry-diving jungler in League of Legends, but compared to other champions, he’s growing more and more outdated.

With multiple champions up for reworks of varying degrees that should be coming soon, many other champs have been brought up in recent discussions concerning ineffective kits when looking at newer champions. Players have been pointing out plenty of champions recently that need work, some of the major ones like Evelynn and Aatrox already finding their way onto the list of reworks, but Nocturne hasn’t officially joined those champions yet.
That doesn’t mean that he isn’t being considered for some work, though, as Riot Meddler recently stated that the jungler could certainly use some love.
Nocturne’s Power is Fine, Gameplay Needs Work

Whenever a Nocturne that’s not too far behind can isolate an enemy carry, he doesn’t have too much of a problem bursting them down. The problem is that the junglerย really only performs that particular task with his entire gameplayย style focused on doing one thing.
“I think Noc shows his age pretty hard, in particular his dependence at this point on going in and bursting someone down as only real path to success,” Riot Meddler said recently when a player asked about Nocturne’s current state.ย “Power wise I think he’s ok, and his ult’s still I’d argue one of the coolest skills in the game.”
Many players, even those playing against Nocturne, would likely agree with Meddler that his Paranoia ultย is definitely prettyย impressive, so whatever changes with Nocย in the future, that part of his kit is expected to stay.
Nocturne’s Mini-Rework Might Take a While

But with all the other champions that are in line to be reworked or updated, it seems that Nocturne’s small-scall update won’t be seen for some time.
“Would love to see a mini update on him at some point, lot of folks we should do first though (Azir, LB for sure, likely others like Garen, Karma, Ez etc),” Meddler said in closing about Nocturne, listing several champions whose needs are greater than Nocturne’s.
The smaller reworks don’t take quite as long as the full Gameplayย Updates or Visual Gameplayย Updates that champions like Urgot, Warwick, and Galioย received, but with all the champions in Meddlers’ list who also need work, it could be some time before Nocturne receives a mini-update
That’s not to say that smaller buffs or nerfsย won’t come in the meantime, but Nocturne’s sitting comfortably at a 50.61 percent winrate, so any buffs would likely be small power increases.
