Marvel Snap Update Changes How Certain Cards Work, Patch Notes Revealed

A new Marvel Snap update has changed the way certain cards work in a way that could affect some popular decks thanks to changes to Wolfsbane and Dagger. Marvel Snap debuted in October and quickly became a hit with players. Second Dinner updated Marvel Snap to version 8.7.1 on November 3rd, adding a popular Marvel character to the game, titles for player profiles, and more. The update also included rebalancing for two cards: Wolfsbane and Dagger. Both cards have abilities that boost them based on the number of other cards at a particular location. In Wolfsbane’s case, she boosts based on the controlling player’s cards. For Dagger, she gets a boost based on the opponent’s cards.

Up until this update, both cards only triggered off of already revealed cards. Now, they also count unrevealed cards. It’s a significant boost for both cards.

Wolfsbane has an On Reveal ability granting her +2 power for each other character you have at the location to which she’s deployed. Previously, players would have to consider sequencing to get the maximum boost, playing her last if at all possible, which might mean sacrificing the efficacy of other cards played on the same turn. That’s not the case anymore.

For example, consider the possible situation where you have six energy and want to play Wolfsbane and Ironheart at a location where you already have two cards. Previously, you’d have to play Wolfsbane last to get her maximum +6 boost, but that would mean she couldn’t possibly benefit from Ironheart’s ability, which grants +1 power to three random friendly characters. With this update, players can reveal Wolfsbane first, get the +6 power since Wolfsbane’s On Reveal will now count the unrevealed Ironheart card, and then have Ironheart reveal last and possibly boost Wolfsbane.

Dagger’s benefit is even more straightforward. When you move Dagger to a new location, she gets +1 for every enemy card at that location. Previously, this would not have counted unrevealed cards, meaning she couldn’t benefit from cards played to that location on the same turn that the player moved Dagger. That’s changed now, and Dagger will get a boost from any card played to that location by an opponent on the same turn that she makes her move.

Marvel Snap . These changes to how Wolfsbane and Dagger work could give On Reveal and Move deck players, respectively, the boost they need to reach the top of the ranked ladder and get that sweet Venom-themed card back. Good luck.

– Updated functionality of Wolfsbane and Dagger to count unrevealed cards when determining their Power gains.

– Daredevil is now available in Card Series 3 (the highest series currently available in Collector’s Reserve Boxes).

– Nick Fury has been added to the Random Pool (it is now possible to get Nick Fury from “random” sources like X-Mansion and Agent 13).

– [PC] Buttons on the Card Detail view no longer overlap in full-screen.

– [PC] Fixed an issue that would cause location art to briefly show as the wrong location before it fully reveals.

Known Issues List

– The splash screen art will briefly appear off-screen before snapping into place when launching the game on iOS.

– It is possible to earn variants from caches/reserves that are also present in your shop, but the shop does not update to reflect you own that variant.

– A brief flicker of duplicate UI appears when going to the Mission screen on app launch.

– Miles Morales doesn’t get his cost reduced if he’s moved to a location with a card that will destroy him.

– Some languages have font that’s too large in some UI and can clip out of it, such as the reward claim button, card upgrade button, season pass headers, or inbox messages.

– French VO can be too quiet.

– The Shop can occasionally be empty for some players.

– Undo Actions UI can be opened over the top of the Retreat UI and soft lock until you restart the client.

– If you do not claim the rank 5 reward, the season roll does not properly occur for you.

– The scroll bar scrolls the wrong way on the Title UI.

– After Attilan activates, the middle location’s focused view displays a card preview instead of the location preview.

– The Sort/Filter UI buttons are misplaced on some iOS devices.
