Both Middle-earth: Shadow of War and The Evil Within 2 launched last week with fans of both series looking forward to taking the next step with the games, but neither one of them was successful in toppling the No. 1 contender within the U.K.'s physical sales charts.
While both of the games were some highly-anticipated titles, FIFA 18 is the game that managed to maintain its spot atop the best-selling games in the U.K. For those who saw the dominance of FIFA 18 previously, there shouldn't be too much surprise to see the game remains among the top spots, but it is perhaps less expected that it maintained its leading spot in the midst of two other prominent releases.
Aside from Shadow of War, The Evil Within 2, and FIFA 18, the games that rounded out the rest of the top-five spots are Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 3. These two games found themselves within the top spots last week as well, so while they'll probably trickle down off of the top ten games eventually, they could see some time among the top contenders for a while now.
It's also worth noting that with the release of Shadow of War and The Evil Within 2, Destiny 2 has fallen out of the top five. It's ranked at No. 6 currently, so it hasn't gone too far, but it's the first time that the game has dropped out of the best-selling spots in the U.K. since it was released in September.
FIFA 18 can likely be expected to stick around the top spots as well, though it might see a drop pretty soon. From this point on during October, several powerhouse titles like South Park: The Fractured but Whole, Assassin's Creed Origins, Super Mario Odyssey, and Wofenstein II: The New Colossus will do their best to overtake the best-selling spots.
