Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a pixel art, arcade-style beat ’em up set in the Marvel universe. With a galaxy-spanning plot and plenty of powerful combo attacks, this game is just plain fun to play. The full game is set to release later this year, but Marvel fans can check out a preview of the action starting right now! Today, Tribute Games and Dometu announced that the Marvel Cosmic Invasion demo is now live for PC gamers on Steam. That means that today through October 20th, fans can get a feel for this upcoming superhero beat ’em up, free of charge.

What’s Included in the Marvel Cosmic Invasion Demo

The Marvel Cosmic Invasion demo is live on Steam right now, which means you can jump on in and check it out for yourself. The PC-only preview of the game will give players an early look at gameplay, but be warned – no progress is saved for this one. So, you’ll be starting fresh when you jump in for real. To get a sense of the kind of action you can experience right now with the Marvel Cosmic Invasion, the team put out a brand-new trailer:

The trailer shows off several of the playable characters you’ll get to check out as part of the demo. The full list includes a total of 9 Marvel heroes:

  • She-Hulk
  • Rocket Raccoon
  • Venom
  • Phyla-Vell
  • Spider-Man
  • Storm
  • Wolverine
  • Nova
  • Captain America

This is just a sampling of the full roster, as Dometo and Tribute Games have already unveiled several more Marvel icons who will be playable at full release. But for now, this is a solid lineup that should have something to offer most Marvel fans.

As your chosen Marvel hero (or villain), you’ll be able to superhero punch your way through two different levels during this free trial of the game. These include Marvel’s New York City and the Helicarrier, showing off the game’s universe-spanning premise.

And yes, the demo does support local and online co-op. So, you can finally settle your friend group’s question about who’d win in a fight between Storm and Wolverine, or let Venom get his vengeance on your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

The Marvel Cosmic Invasion demo will be available on Steam until Monday, October 20th, aka the end of Steam Next Fest. That gives fans plenty of time to try out all 9 playable characters and get familiar with the two included levels. There will, of course, be much more to see when the full game releases later this year, but the demo is set to offer an enticing first look for fans trying to prioritize their Marvel gaming time in 2025. Because really, aren’t we all?
