The latest in the ever growing list of Overwatch comics brings the tank Zarya front and center in Searching. In the latest media to shed some light on the lore surrounding the hit Blizzard FPS, players see Zarya in a new light: as Sergeant Aleksandra Zaryanova. Zaryanova is tasked with an incredibly compromising task, at least for her. This character is known for her very public dislike of Omnics, so to see her partnered up with one named Lynx in a search for the illusive hacker Sombra was a bit of a twist.

Some backstories have been heartbreaking, others – like Tracer’s – gave off the warm and fuzzies. Searching helps players see Zarya in a different light, one where she can be seen overcoming her own prejudices to get the job done.
