New Terminator Game Hit With Another Release Date Delay

The upcoming Terminator video game, Terminator 2D: No Fate, has seen its release date pushed back once again. Originally slated to release in early September, this 2D action game that is based on the film Terminator 2: Judgment Day saw its launch pushed back to October due to issues tied to its physical versions. Unfortunately, this October date that was previously planned will no longer be feasible either as the title has now seen its arrival shifted back by a few more weeks.

Announced by publisher Reef Entertainment, it was shared that Terminator 2D: No Fate will now drop on November 26, 2025. Previously, the game was slated for October 31st, which means that this delay is a little under one month in total. As for the reason behind the delay, Reef Entertainment once again said that the physical release of Terminator 2D is taking longer than anticipated to ship. Rather than release the game in a digital-only capacity first, the company is choosing to delay all versions of the title so that they can arrive simultaneously.

“This adjustment is due to ongoing global trade and tariff changes that delayed shipment of the components for our Day One and Collector’s Editions,” said Reef Entertainment. “Because we are committed to launching all editions together, this new date applies to both physical and digital releases worldwide. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding, and we’re sorry for this further delay. The team is working hard to make sure your wait is worth it, and we can’t wait to share Terminator 2D: No Fate with you all this November.”

Terminator 2D Looks Fantastic So Far

While it might seem strange to have a new Terminator game launching in 2025, especially one that is based on a movie from 34 years ago, it cannot be stressed enough how excellent Terminator 2D: No Fate has looked so far. Reef Entertainment and developer Bitmap Bureau seem to have captured the gameplay stylings of games from the SNES and Sega Genesis era with No Fate and have adapted them for modern times. Across its 15 different levels, Terminator 2D lets players control Sarah Connor, John Connor, and the titular Terminator in levels based on scenes from Judgment Day.
