There are only a few things that we can count on during today’s presentation. We know for a fact that Super Mario Odyssey is going to show up. Hopefully we’ll get some prolonged gameplay footage, but even if we just get a new cinematic trailer, we know that the game will be playable on the E3 show floor. One way or another, a ton of Mario Odyssey gameplay footage is on the way.
We’re also pretty sure that we’ll see new trailers for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Fire Emblem Warriors. Word on the street is that Xenoblade has been delayed until February of 2018, which wouldn’t surprise me at all. It’s going to be a huge game, and there is very likely a lot of localization challenges involved in bringing it to the West.
Fire Emblem Warriors is sure to show up, as we’re still getting over our Fire Emblem fever after the release of Echoes on the 3DS. This new Warriors style game looks gorgeous so far, but all we’ve seen are a select few screenshots past the initial reveal. We can’t wait to feast our eyes on some more gameplay and see how it’s shaping up. Who knows, we may even get a brand new Fire Emblem game announcement.
Will we see the SNES Classic Edition? We can only hope. The mini console has been leaked to Eurogamer, which stated that it would release some time this year. The NES Classic Edition was revealed in a press release of all things, but since it did so well, maybe Nintendo will give the SNES version a little more attention.
