Having trouble trying to get your hands on a pre-order of the SNES Classic in time for its release later this month? Well, there’s a great new option available if you happen to be in the New York area.

And that option comes straight from Nintendo, who have announced that it will be hosting a “totally retro 90’s midnight launch party” for the system on September 28th. All you basically have to do is stand in line at 4 PM (it might build up before then, just saying), and the first 150 people in line will receive a wristband that will get them into the party.

The invite, which can be seen below, reads, “Join us at Nintendo NY for a totally retro 90’s midnight launch party for the Super NES Classic Edition system! At 4PM on 9/28, the first 150 people in line will receive a wristband to attend the launch and be among the first to purchase the Super NES Classic Edition System. Now you’re playing with super power.”

For those of you that don’t get one of the wristbands (or staying up that late in New York City), the system will be available publicly the next morning at 9 AM, with a limited quantity on hand. So there’s a slight chance that you’ll be able to get the system, but no guarantees. Again, it just really helps to get in line nearly and try your luck at getting one of those wristbands.

The SNES Classic has been a hot commodity since its announcement earlier this year, featuring over 20 classics from the 16-bit Nintendo era, as well as the debut of Star Fox 2, which will be available publicly for the first time (unless you couldn’t shoddy reproduction cartridges and ROMs). Nintendo has promised that it will keep a hefty supply of the system on hand, but, yeah, if you want one, it never hurts to find a good place to pre-order, just in case.

The SNES Classic Edition will release on September 29th for $79.99, which is a fairly good value. And yes, it includes two controllers. Bring a friend.
