As PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds moves closer towards its full release, Bluehole announced that the next testing phase will include even more new weapons as well as the upcoming desert map.

The 1.0 version of PUBG is expected to be released by the end of the year with late December being the current target, but between now and then, Bluehole still has plenty left to show off for the battle royale game. The new desert map is one of the biggest releases that players will be looking forward to as of late, a map that'll finally give PUBG warriors a new landscape where they can claw their way to the top.

The PUBG Twitter account recently tweeted their thanks for everyone who continues to help them test new additions on the test servers, and as they typically do, they previewed more content that's coming to ensure players return to those test servers. Along with the new desert map that'll be playable in the next round of testing, a weapon that looks to be a sawed-off shotgun will also be available, a weapon that'll be exclusive to the desert map.

The tweet didn't give a date for when the new test server would be open again, but with the new content being previewed already, it shouldn't be too long before they're once again up and running with the map and weapons. Even without a scheduled date, PUBG players can still look forward to The Game Awards, an event that's already been confirmed to have some new gameplay centered around the new desert map. Geoff Keighley, the creator and producer of The Game Awards, recently tweeted that the first look at the desert map would be seen live during the show. The test servers might even open up soon after that date to strike while the PUBG iron is hot, so look for them to be reopened within a few days of The Game Awards.
