New Pokemon Go Event Allegedly Leaked
Pokemon Go's next event has allegedly been leaked and it's a doozy. The Pokemon Go fan page 'Team [...]
More Fire-Type and Ice-Type Pokemon

Similar to previous events, Pokemon Go will increase the spawns of certain types of Pokemon. However, for the upcoming Solstice event, Pokemon Go will increase the spawn rates of two different types of Pokemon for the first time ever. According to the leak, both Fire-Type and Ice-Type Pokemon will start spawning all over the world at the start of the event.
Pokemon involved in the event will include Charmander, Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Vulpix, Houndour, Ponyta, Magmar, Cloyster, Sneasel, and Swinub. Like in previous events, their evolutions will also start spawning with increased frequency as well.
Here's the full leaked promotional text:
prevnextTrainers around the world will discover more Charmander, Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Houndour, Ponyta, Swinub, Vulpix, and their Evolutions. You'll also want to keep an eye out for Sneasel, Magmar, Cloyster, and other Fire types and Ice types!
Big XP Bonuses

Pokemon Go is also giving big XP bonuses....but only for completing certain tasks. While past events gave out "Double XP" for everything trainers did in Pokemon Go, players will only get extra XP related to Poke Ball throw bonuses. That means that players will receive even more XP for catching a Pokemon with a Nice, Great, or Excellent Poke Ball throws, catching a Pokemon on their First Poke Ball throw, or for successfully catching a Pokemon with a Curve Ball. Players will also get an XP bonus for every Egg they hatch.
As of right now, we don't know if Pokemon Go will give out double XP for throw bonuses or if they'll up the XP amount by even more.
prevnextDiscounted Lucky Eggs

Of course, Pokemon Go events are also a chance for Niantic to make some extra money on in app purchases. For the Solstice event, Pokemon Go is discounting Lucky Eggs by 50% to help players take advantage of the extra XP bonuses. Lucky Eggs will double a player's XP for 30 minutes, so players can stack the event's XP bonus with the effects of the Lucky Egg.
prevnextStart Date

The Fire and Ice event will take place from June 13th through June 20th. While you'd expect a solstice event to start on the actual solstice, Pokemon Go probably wants to space the event out a bit from the anticipated "Birthday Event" to commemorate Pokemon Go's launch date in early July.
If the leak is accurate, we should expect an official announcement later this week. So stay tuned, Pokemon Go fans!
