A Surprise Major Pokemon Go Event Announced
Pokemon Go just announced a surprise new event for later this week. Adventure Week is possibly [...]
More Rock-type Pokemon

As with past events, Adventure Week will feature increased spawns of a type of Pokemon. This time, we're getting a lot more Rock-type Pokemon appearing in Pokemon Go. Although Rock-types aren't quite as prolific as Grass-type or Water-type Pokemon, there's still a lot of cool Pokemon that could pop up in the event. Some of the confirmed Pokemon in the event include Kabuto, Omanyte, Aerodactyl, Onix, and Sudowoodo, but we're expecting most of the Rock-types to make an appearance. Other rare Rock-types include Shuckle and Larvitar, so keep your eyes out for a chance to fill out your PokeDex.
It'll also be interesting to see whether Corsola, a Water/Rock dual-type Pokemon, makes an appearance in more temperate climates. Right now, Corsola only appears in more tropical areas and Adventure Week would be a good excuse for them to make a temporary worldwide migration.
prevnextIncreased Item Drops

Get ready for a lot more items. PokeStops will drop more items during Adventure Week to help encourage players to go out and catch more Pokemon. One of Pokemon Go's first events involved increased item drops, so it'll be interesting to see if we'll get between 7-10 items with every PokeStop spin. If Pokemon Go had a new item they wanted to introduce, now would be a great time to do it.
prevnextIncreased Candies from Buddy Pokemon

Hardcore Pokemon Go players will probably appreciate this part of Adventure Week most of all. Buddy Pokemon will find Candies four times as fast during Adventure Week, which means now is the time to get moving and get your favorite Pokemon either powered up or fully evolved. We recommend using Adventure Week to making some major progress on getting Dragonite or Tyranitar, as you'll collect a Candy for every 1.25 kilometers you walk.
prevnextDiscounted Poke Balls

On top of the increased item drops, Pokemon Go is also discounting the cost of Poke Balls by 50% during Adventure Week. It usually costs 800 coins to get 200 Poke Balls, but now it'll only cost a mere 400 coins to fill up your bag to the brim. This discount could be especially handy for Pokemon Go Plus users, who usually have trouble keeping their Poke Balls stocked during increased spawn events.
prevnextA New Free Wardrobe Item

Pokemon Go is also giving away a new wardrobe item, presumably to replace those Magikarp Caps that a lot of players are still wearing from the Water Festival. The Adventurer's Cap will be given out to any player that logs in during Adventure Week. We don't know what it looks like, but we're guessing it's a Indiana Jones-style fedora of some kind.
