Pokemon Go has one final trick for its Halloween event in the form of a new Shiny Pokemon.

Multiple players are reporting that they have either seen or caught a Shiny Sableye in the opening minutes of the Halloween Event. Sableye is one of the five new Ghost-Type Pokemon that was added to the game to celebrate the Halloween season. While Sableye is the weakest of the new Pokemon, the fact that it has an alternate coloration will make it highly sought after during the Halloween season.
While dataminers discovered image assets for Shiny versions of all five new Ghost-Type Pokemon, it appears that only the Shiny Sableye is currently available in-game.
What Are Shiny Pokemon?
Shiny Pokemon are variant colored versions of normal Pokemon and are prized by many fans for their extreme rarity. In the main series Pokemon games, only 1 in every 4000 wild Pokemon are Shiny, although there are ways of increasing your odds significantly. Other than their alternate skin/fur tones, there’s no difference between a Shiny Pokemon and a non-Shiny Pokemon.
Sableye has some pretty exclusive company in Pokemon Go. To date, only five other Pokemon have shiny versions in the game. Pokemon Go first added Shiny Magikarp and Shiny Gyarados during last spring’s Water Festival, and then added Shiny Pichu, Pikachu, and Raichu over the summer.
We’ll have to see if any other surprises are in store this Halloween in Pokemon Go!
