Giving out unique Pokemon through real-world events and codes has been a trend recently in Pokemon games that’s often tied to limited-time promotions or new products. This special Charizard that’s being distributed through Target retailers follows a similar vein by coinciding with a new box set of Pokemon cards called Pokemon TCG: Charizard-GX Premium Collection. The latest product from the Pokemon Trading Card Game comes with a variety of attractive incentives including a new promo card and a unique collector’s pin.

But even if you’re not planning on adding some cards to your collection, you can still easily pick up a new Charizard for your team by simply visiting a nearby location. Just head inside, grab your code, and you’re on your way to adding a special-edition Charizard to your party.

The Pokemon in question comes preloaded with a powerful move set and ability along with a held item. Joining your team at level 50, it’s even got a pretty decent head start on other Pokemon that you’ll encounter.

Target’s special Charizard will include the following:

  • Level: 50
  • Held Item: Red Card
  • Ability: Blaze
  • Moves: Dragon Dance, Flare Blitz, Fly, and Earthquake

If you’re still not convinced as to whether you should make a quick drive over to Target or not, a new trailer that was released for the promotion might help sway your decision. Seen above, the trailer highlights some of the moves that Charizard will have and reminds players of the end date for the deal.

To redeem the code from Target, it’s as simple as navigating to your Mystery Gift option. From there, entering in the Target code and speaking to a delivery person at a Pokemon Center will do the trick.

The Charizard offer kicked off on Oct. 1 and will last for just the next two weeks, so players still have a while to participate before the deal is gone. Target’s promotion will end on Oct. 14, though, so make sure you don’t wait too long.
