PS5 Pro Doesn’t Support Four of Some of September’s Biggest Games

Four of some of September’s biggest games do not support the PS5 Pro. The collection of games is playable on the premium Sony console, which is required of every game that releases on the PlayStation Store. Rather, this means there are no PS5 Pro “enhancements,” which means there is no specialized or unique support of the more expensive PlayStation console. The PS5 Pro may run these games marginally better thanks to its superior tech compared to the standard version of the console, but said games are nowhere near getting the most out of the supped-up PlayStation 5.

The good news is that some of September 2025’s biggest and most noteworthy games are PS5 Pro Enhanced, including EA Sports FC 26, NHL 26, Hell Is Us, and NBA 2K26. However, if you are not a sports fan, there is not much here. Meanwhile, the list of games missing PS5 Pro enhancements is simply more notable than the list above. Of course, this could change in the future, but right now, there is no word of PS5 Pro updates for any of these games. It is often the case that support is patched after launch. This even happened with the 2024 PS5 exclusive Silent Hill 2 Remake, but the wait can be many months. In the meantime, PS5 Pro users may want to hold off on playing the games below until it does change.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Hollow Knight: Silksong isn’t just one of the biggest releases of September, but of all of 2025, as evidenced by its massive player account and incredible review score. Those on PS5 Pro are probably not missing out on much with the game not being PS5 Pro Enhanced, because while beautiful, it is not the most technically demanding game to begin with. Still, it’s a big miss considering the massive anticipation and long wait for the release.

Dying Light: The Beast

What’s odd about Dying Light: The Beast not being PS5 Pro Enhanced is that the latest Dying Light game, Dying Light 2, is. And Techland had to go out of its way to add this because the game shipped before the premium Sony console even existed. This bodes well for future PS5 Pro support from Dying Light: The Beast, but makes the fact that it is missing at launch a bit puzzling.

Borderlands 4

Not only is Borderlands 4 not PS5 Pro Enhanced, but it has some performance issues unique to the PS5 Pro, which Gearbox has acknowledged and is working on. That said, Borderlands 4 has performance issues across the board and is a very technically demanding game based on its minimum requirements on PC. To this end, if there is one game PS5 Pro users should really wait for, it is probably this one.

Cronos: The New Dawn

September 2025’s big horror game is unfortunately not PS5 Pro Enhanced, and it probably won’t be in time for Halloween at this point. Considering the release comes from Bloober Team, who were late to add to Silent Hill 2 Remake, perhaps it should come as no surprise. Yet, the game did launch Steam Deck Verified, so it is a little odd that the PS5 Pro did not get the same treatment.
