We called it. We reported that Capcom was pleased with sales of Ultra Street Fighter II on the Nintendo Switch, and that multiple “Switch version” games were in the works. We said that this of course means multiple Resident Evil games are in the works, and lo, this morning Capcom announced that Resident Evil Revelations and Revelations 2 are Switch-bound! That’s not all, though: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners are also getting in on the action. Check out the announcement trailer above to get a glimpse of these remastered favorites.

“Resident Evil Revelations is launching on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 29th,” reads Capcom’s latest update, “looking better than ever and complete with all originally released DLC for $19.99! That’s not all, though: both Resident Evil Revelations and its sequel, Resident Evil Revelations 2, will be setting sail for Nintendo Switch in late 2017! At retail across North America you will find these two games as a combo pack dubbed Resident Evil Revelations Collection, which includes one cartridge with Revelations as well as a digital download voucher for Revelations 2 for $39.99. Both games will be available as individual digital downloads at $19.99 each.”

The pricing, by the way, will be the same on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Revelations 2 is already available on those platforms, and when Revelations launches it will go for $19.99. Nintendo Switch fans who are hurting for storage may be dismayed to see that Resident Evil Revelations 2 will only be available as a digital title, even if you opt to buy the physical collection. If you haven’t purchased a beefy microSD card yet, now would be the time.

Revelations

“Set aboard a ship adrift in the Mediterranean Sea, the story of Resident Evil Revelations initially follows BSAA agent Jill Valentine, former S.T.A.R.S. agent and Raccoon City survivor, in her search for her fellow agents Chris Redfield and Jessica Sherawat. Joined by Parker Luciani, the duo soon finds out that they’re in far over their heads, becoming entangled in a grand story of betrayal and revenge. The horror has only just begun, as strange bio-weapons start to worm their way throughout the ship, turning Jill and Parker’s rescue mission into a fight for survival. You’ll have to use every weapon and tool at your disposal, including the Genesis Scanner, which grants helpful items by gathering combat data on bioweapons, to survive this nightmare.”

Revelations 2

“Revelations 2 focuses on a pair of intertwined stories. Claire Redfield returns as a member of TerraSave, an anti-bioweapon organization that gets caught up in an insidious plot. Joined by Moira Burton, the two try to escape from a desolate prison island. Meanwhile, Moira’s fan-favorite father and former member of S.T.A.R.S., Barry Burton, is looking for his daughter’s last known whereabouts on the same island, soon crossing paths with a child who claims to live on the island alone. Barry will need all the help he can get, as strange creatures are prowling the halls and caverns of the island.”
