Super Mario Party Jamboree’s Switch 2 Version Just Got Even Better

Generally speaking, patches and updates for first-party Nintendo games are few and far between. Since the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, the pace has picked up a bit. Nintendo is working to ensure all its games work well on the new console with backwards compatibility. Overnight on September 2nd, a new update for Super Mario Party Jamboree was released for both the Switch and Switch 2 versions of the game. This update is primarily geared at improving things for the Switch 2, but that doesn’t mean original Switch owners should skip the patch. There are a few fixes in store for the OG Switch, as well. But those playing the Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree will certainly notice the biggest changes thanks to a Full HD upgrade.

As is tradition with Nintendo patch notes, the details are pretty vague. The Full HD upgrade and difficulty adjustments for Switch 2 are no doubt the highlights. But those “adjustments and fixes” for both consoles will likely streamline the gameplay experience for Super Mario Party Jamboree fans, as well. However, it’s unclear exactly what has been improved since the patch notes don’t fully go into detail. It’s likely that the patch included some bug fixes and optimizations.

To take advantage of the new HD option, fans will need to be playing the Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree. If you previously owned the game for the original Switch, the Upgrade Pack for the Switch 2 version is $19.99. Buying the Switch 2 version outright costs $79.99, making it one of Nintendo’s new $80 games for its current-gen console.
