“It just started with an audition, but the audition process was obviously a little bit different than when you’re going in for a traditional speaking role,” Hoeksema said. “So our movement coach at the time, Paul Becker had performed and prepared with the executive team, a movement piece that reflected a sequence from the second game. And they just asked us to do our best to replicate Paul’s sequence and try and include some of the vocalization as well in the piece.” From there, Hoeksema found himself on the set of The Last of Us quite quickly and is now entering all of our living rooms as the undead, infected creature! Hoeksema went on in the interview with ET‘s Ash Crossan and ComicBook‘s Brandon Davis to talk about the conditions on the set of The Last of Us, working with Pedro Pascal in the iconic clicker scene from Episode 2, and much more!
