Setting up a couple of dominoes in a line while keeping them all standing upright can be frustrating enough, let alone when you have to try and position them in any sort of meaningful patter. Fortunately, there’s individuals who specialize in such artistic endeavors such as these to make up for those of us who can’t, such as the above video that shows over 20,000 dominoes being toppled in a beautiful Pokemon-themed recreation.

Videos by ComicBook.com

The video comes from the YouTube user aptly named TheDominoKing, a content creator who specialized in meticulously constructing these domino creations. The projects feature video game characters from series such as Mario games, Splatoon, and Five Nights at Freddy’s. While the number of dominoes that are used in each project vary โ€“ some of them use as many as 100,000 dominoes โ€“ this project used exactly 22,177 dominoes, still an insanely large number that took five days to set up.

Pikachu is the focus of this art project, framed by a giant PokeBall that climbs upwards behind the electric Pokemon, but TheDominoKing noted in the video’s description that he chose to add more to the project towards the end. That’s where the addition of the Pokemon Trainer Red comes in.

But describing the project can only get someone so far, and while it’s great to appreciate the time and investment that went into creating such a massive project, nothing is as satisfying as watching all of these dominoes topple.

This isn’t the first time that TheDominoKing has created domino projects built around Pokemon games, but this particular project is just the latest of a reoccurring “Pokemon of the Month” series that the content creator is building. Pikachu makes sense for a prime spot in this collection of Pokefied dominoes as it claims the July spot for the monthly Pokemon. Past projects in the series include Lucario, Mewtwo, Mew, Mimikyu, and the evolutions of Eevee.

With more gaming-themed domino projects coming out all the time, it’s best to keep up with TheDominoKing through either his main YouTube account or through Twitter so that you can catch the projects as soon as they’re unveiled.
