Trading cards were all the rage back in the 1990’s, and Jim Lee helped define that era of comics. That’s why it makes perfect sense for Lee’s art to take point in Marvel’s new trading card variant covers.

Lee’s pencils and Scott Williams’ inks have been remastered and recolored from the original cards by a variety of talented colorists, including Jesus Aburtov, Israel Silva, and Chris Sotomayor.
The covers will include fan favorites like Archangel, Gambit, Cable, Domino, Mr. Sinister, Psylocke, Magneto, and Shadowcat, and will grace issues released in June. The covers will time with Astonishing X-Men #1, which puts together the team of Old Man Logan, Psylocke, Archangel, Rogue, Gambit, Fantomex, Bishop, and Mystique.
