When the Avengers: Infinity War trailer debuted this morning, it gave fans quite a lot to take in. And for those who haven’t seen Marvel Studios‘ latest film, one pretty big bombshell was accidentally revealed along the way.

Fans got two shots of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in the Infinity War trailer, one of which revealed that he now has an eyepatch. As those who have seen Ragnarok know, Thor gets his right eye clawed out by Hela (Cate Blanchett) within the film’s third act. This revelation certainly took fans by surprise, with many wondering if the injury would be permanent going into Infinity War, or retconned in one way or another.

“Some of the commercials for this film have him not missing an eye,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige explained earlier this month. “So you don’t know what’s going on. Like we didn’t want to spoil that in any of the footage we shot. No, we didn’t think about that. We thought about what’s fun for the character. What’s cool for the character. Not ‘Are we sullying our good-looking actor?’ He looks good in any way. In any way, shape, and form.”

Still, some Marvel fans have feelings about Thor’s new eyepatch, and have voiced their opinion about it on Twitter. Here’s a round-up of some of our favorite tweets about Thor’s eyepatch in Avengers: Infinity War.
