Taking to Twitter, JustJared shared several first set photos from the the film which is currently filming in Atlanta, GA. In the tweet, fans can see Tom Holland dressed nicely in a casual blue sweater and jeans while the second photo shows Zendaya rocking a white blouse and pinned-up hair.
Zendaya was first confirmed to have joined Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming earlier this Spring but few details about her role were given. As studios are growing increasingly strict to prevent info leaks on their blockbusting films, Marvel simply confirmed that Zendaya would be playing a character named “Michelle.” Whether the name is simply a codename for a different well-known figure from Spider-Man’s history is unknown, so fans will just have to wait until Marvel or Sony drop official updates on the film.
While these set photos from Spider-Man: Homecoming are now circulating the internet, several social media posts were published today to give fans an inside look of the film’s set. Tom Holland himself took to his Instagram just hours ago to upload a photo of himself on-set, likely in his trailer, where he can be seen leaning against a cast chair. The name ‘Peter’ is embroidered on Holland’s chair in reference to the actor’s role, and fans are already sharing the post like crazy as they get hyped for the actor’s upcoming role.
Director James Gunn also took to Twitter and Facebook to celebrate the start of Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s shoot. Posting a photo of himself with Chris Pratt and Tom Holland as Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 wrapped, the director wrote in a tweet, “Break a leg @TomHolland1996 & @jnwtts as you star [sic] your Spider-Man: Homecoming journey!”
Spider-Man: Homecoming will hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
