There’s still a couple of months left until Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 hits theaters in the US, but fans can hardly contain their excitement. Ever since the trailer debuted last year, Guardians has become the talk of the town.

In the footage, Baby Groot totally stole the show – and the bomb. One other character however, really shined bright in the new trailer, and fans might not have expected him to be so charming.
Drax had some of the funniest moments in the new trailer, and fans are now asking to see more and more of Dave Bautista‘s character. While he was equal parts hilarious and touching in the original movie, it looks like Drax will take an even bigger leap in Guardians 2.
In a Facebook post wishing Bautista a happy birthday, director James Gunn let fans know just how much they’re going to love Drax in the new movie.
Not only did Gunn talk about Drax’s expanded role, but he said that he’s been one of the biggest takeaways for fans that have attended test screenings of the film.
In the post, Gunn says, “He’s been blowing people’s minds in our early screenings of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 – exponentially increasing the raw emotion and humor he displayed in the first movie.”
We’re going to be seeing a lot more of Drax in this year’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, and no one is complaining about that.
