Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Director Says Opening Sequence Will Be Cooler Than The First Film's
Most films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe don't typically have opening credits scenes—they just dive right into the action and save the names for the end.
But most Marvel films don't have the charm or irreverence that Guardians of the Galaxy packs in.
Who could forget that opening of Star-Lord dancing his way through a decrepit and derelict tomb toward the devastating Orb containing an Infinity Stone to the sounds of "Come And Get Your Love" by Redbone?
When asked pointblank on Twitter whether fans can expect something similar to open Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, James Gunn gave a direct response.
@JamesGunn Is there gonna be an opening title sequence as cool as in the first film?

No. It’s going to be cooler. https://t.co/9T3pGsNaJM

Peter Quill's Awesome Mixtape Vol. 1 was the backbone to the first film and a vital component to its vibrancy, so its no surprise that the second film would begin with something similar.
We've already seen clips of the team taking on a giant monster while Rocket hooks up an amp—could that be the opening scene from the second film? We'll find out in a few months.
