When it comes to Marvel Studios, the studio knows how to keep a secret. The blockbusting company has rigorous protocols in place to some of its biggest spoilers for slipping to the public, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has tested the studio heavily in the last few months. As promotions for the highly anticipated sequel got underway, fans began digging around in hopes of discovering why Sylvester Stallone and Michael Rosenbaum were cast in the film. While time did eventually reveal the former’s role to the public, the latter has keep tight-lipped about his part in the movie. And, now, Rosenbaum is teasing fans about his major role.

Today, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 had its red carpet premiere, and it was there that Rosenbaum made an appearance. When the star was questioned about his role on the event’s live-stream, the actor stressed he could not reveal his role outright. However, he did drop as many casual hints as he could.

“Well, I’m in the movie. And I can’t really say the role I’m playing ’cause James [Gunn] swore me to secrecy. It’s with Stallone. It’s an important role.”

“I’m not allowed to say anything other than that. I can’t wait to see it. I haven’t seen it. I’ve been waiting a year to be able to say something. So it’s really exciting,” he continued.

“I’m really excited to be here. The fans are awesome. They are all around. Yeah. This is incredible. So I’ll see it for the first time, too. I’m not going to tell you what I look like, either. You’re just going to have to see the movie. I don’t have to shave my head again, so that’s good.”

Fans are currently using their deduction skills to suss out who Rosenbaum may be playing. Earlier in the week, news broke that Stallone had been cast as Stakar Ogord, a character better known as Starhawk to Marvel fans. The character is a prominent Guardians of the Galaxy member in the comics, so fans have started to speculate if other heroes from the Guardians 3000 may appear in the movie. If so, fans are putting money on the hope that Rosenbaum is playing someone like Vance Astro. However, there are others who are dreaming even bigger. Many wonder if the secrecy about Rosenbaum’s role may connect him to Adam Warlock since the fan-favorite character is still MIA in the MCU.
