There's been some speculation among fans that Samuel L. Jackson may appear on Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D., or at least in the pilot, as Nick Fury, the S.H.I.E.L.D. director he plays in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but according to the actor, nobody has even talked to him about the possibility. "I don't know. I keep hearing about it, and I haven't talked to Joss about it," the actor told MTV News in an interview embedded below. "But in my mind, I would tend to think that he would, if nothing else, be like Charlie in Charlie's Angels. At least be the voice!" Big-name film actors like Jackson tend to be averse to television much of the time, so even his openness to the possibility might be half the battle, but one assumes it would necessitate contract negotiations, since it's unlikely the filmmakers at Marvel Studios would relish losing Nick Fury to the TV series, or even burning off contracted appearances that way. That said, it sounds from Jackson's account as though Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be one of the most Nick Fury-centric films we've yet had. "It's a full-on role, from the original script that I read. It's a full-on S.H.I.E.L.D. operation in Captain America," the actor said. "But I don't know — I'm meeting with the directors this week to see what happens." The character will not appear in Iron Man 3 or Thor: The Dark World, according to reports, marking the first Marvel Cinematic Universe films that he hasn't been a part of since The Incredible Hulk. It's been widely speculated that he would appear in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, a fact that the actor only recently confirmed.
