If you watched Captain America: Civil War, then you already know how good-ole’ Crossbones fared in the flick. The disfigured Hydra agent was shown on a warpath in Laos as he led goonies to fight against the Avengers. However, things went south for the burnt baddie when Captain America took him to task, leaving Crossbones with no recourse but to become a suicide bomber to kill Steve Rogers. Of course, fans know that Scarlet Witch kept the Captain safe whilst Crossbones presumably was blown to smithereens, but the villain’s apparent death isn’t going to stop Spider-Man: Homecoming from giving him a shoutout.

In an interview with CinemaBlend, a producer on Spider-Man: Homecoming told the site that fans would see subtle easter egg involving Crossbones in the movie. The nod comes courtesy of Shocker, a villain who teams up with the Vulture to wreak havoc and make life hard for Tony Stark. Talking about the Shocker’s armory, Carroll pointed out that one of his gauntlets was salvaged from Crossbones.

“One of the guys on his team goes by The Shocker, which Toomes make fun of him for. ‘What is this, Pro-Wrestling?’ I think this is another really cool interpretation of a pretty classic costume. He’s got these insulated, yellow arms, like the Shocker in the comics. And that gauntlet, you’ll recognize from the beginning of Civil War,” Carroll said.

“It’s what’s Crossbones is using to kick the shit of Cap in that prologue. They scavenged it from the battle in Lagos, and made a couple of upgrades, so that it’s not a pneumatic punch machine. It also delivers a pretty hefty jolt when it connects, as well.”

With Crossbones’ old weapon now laced with alien tech, the device is not one you’d want to be on the wrong end of. Even Captain America would want to think twice before get poked with the electrified stunner. Yikes!

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine โ€“ distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man โ€“ but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

The cast features Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr., Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Logan Marshall-Green, and Marisa Tomei.

The film is being directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car), based on a screenplay by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley (Vacation reboot) and Jon Watts & Christopher Ford and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers.
