Tessa Thompson Homages ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ At Emmys

Fans might still have to wait a few months to see Tessa Thompson’s Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, but the actress is already paying homage to Thor: Ragnarok in real life.

Thompson appeared at the 69th Annual Emmy Awards this past weekend, as part of the cast of Westworld. The actress, who will play Valkyrie in Ragnarok, wore a rainbow-hued dress, which some quickly noticed resembled a certain magical bridge in the trilogy.

For the uninitiated, the Bifrost bridge serves as Asgard’s link to the Nine Realms, and is guarded by Heimdall (Idris Elba). While it’s rainbow colors have been fairly understated in the previous Thor films, they’re traditionally pretty vibrant in the comics – much like Thompson’s dress.

Thompson then echoed the comparisons on her Twitter account, officially dubbing the dress “bifrost couture”, and sending the ensemble to the top of Marvel fans’ ‘Best Dressed’ lists.

While Thompson’s outfits in Ragnarok might not be as colorful, the actress has spoken quite a bit about how impressive they are.

“The designs are incredible.” Thompson told ComicBook.com during a Ragnarok set visit. “I mean, they’re, they’re so detailed. This [costume] is made entirely with plastic, so it’s not the most comfortable thing to wear. But I think it’s really strong, and gives a really bold look.”

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3.
