Marvel star Tom Holland recently won a BAFTA for his role in Captain America: Civil War – and he celebrated on social media in a way that would make Peter Parker proud.
The British actor shared a photo of him accompanied by one of his Marvel Cinematic Universe co-stars, Michael Rooker.

Rooker, of course, plays the blue-skinned alien scavenger Yondu Udonta in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Holland’s caption of the photo refers to the costumed Rooker as his BAFTA, poking fun at the blue color of the actual award.
For fans hoping that this picture of the pair is from the set of Avengers: Infinity War, we have some disappointing news. This photo appears to be from the Marvel panel at last year’s San Diego Comic Con, which Holland attended to promote Spider-Man: Homecoming. Rooker became a highlight of the panel when he crashed the event in costume to help unveil Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 footage.
While Holland has recently been confirmed to appear in Infinity War, it is currently unclear if Rooker will join his Guardians of the Galaxy teammates in the film.
Holland did arrive in person to accept his ‘Rising Star’ award at the recent BAFTA event, thanking his acting coaches in particular for helping him develop his craft. You can watch the video of his acceptance speech below.
The twenty-year-old actor’s fellow nominees included Preacher‘s Ruth Negga and Split‘s Ana Taylor-Joy. Prior to Holland, the Rising Star award has gone to actors such as John Boyega, James McAvoy, and Tom Hardy.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premieres on May 5th, 2017. Spider-Man: Homecoming premieres on July 7th, 2017. Avengers: Infinity War Part I premieres on May 4th, 2018.
