According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peters will play the silver-haired mutant for a third time with X-Men: Dark Phoenix. The actor first played Peter Maximoff back in X-Men: Days of Future Past and reprised the role a second time in X-Men: Apocalypse. Peters became a fan-favorite character with fans thanks to his snarky and quick-witted jokes. So far, there is no word on what sort of role Quicksilver could have in the new X-Men feature, but more details about the project will be released as production heads underway.
Peter’s casting is not the only new update X-Men: Dark Phoenix has in store for fans. The Hollywood Reporter has also confirmed the Fox film had added yet another star to its roster. Lamar Johnson has been cast in an unidentified role for X-Men: Dark Phoenix. The actor may be unknown to U.S. audiences, but Johnson is one of the stars of the Canadians show The Next Step.
Over the past month, the stars of X-Men: Dark Phoenix have been slowly gearing up for the film’s shooting. James McAvoy took to social media to tease his return to Professor Charles Xavier’s bald head. New recruits have also been brought to light; Recent reports suggested Jessica Chastian was in talks to play Princess Lilandra of the Shi’ar in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. The award-winning actress would likely play one of the film’s major antagonists as the alien race is a major adversary of the Dark Phoenix which Jean Grey houses in the Marvel Universe.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be a direct sequel to X-Men: Apocalypse. The film will take place in the 1990s and will be inspired by “The Dark Phoenix Saga,” the most popular X-Men story of all time.
Fox attempted to adapt “The Dark Phoenix Saga” once previously, in X-Men: The Last Stand. The attempt was not well-received by fans.
