Asgard is a powerhouse factory in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Odin, of course, is the cream of the crop, keeping peace in the Nine Realms for thousands of years before his own son usurps him. Frigga, Odin’s wife, also has plenty going for her, being a master of illusions who teaches the God of Mischief all he knows. By the time of the Thor movies, though, the couple is out of practice, leaving their kids to pick up all the slack. Loki shows that he can scheme with the best of them, and Thor goes above and beyond in his heroic role, joining the Avengers and helping save the entire galaxy from Thanos.

Sadly, Thor has to watch all of his family members die, and he won’t be able to join them in Valhalla for a long time. That’s because the God of Thunder is burdened with glorious strength, being one of the very few who can wield a god-killing weapon like Stormbreaker. However, being the strongest character from Asgard doesn’t make him the strongest character in the MCU. Here are four Marvel characters that are actually stronger than Thor in the MCU.
4) Loki

Yes, the Loki that Thor from Earth-616 grew up with is dead, but there’s a powerful variant of the trickster out there. After being created by the Avengers messing with time, Loki finds himself at the mercy of the Time Variance Authority. The organization isn’t what it seems, though, and after the death of He Who Remains, someone has to take his place and hold the multiverse together. Loki steps up to the plate and embraces his new destiny, which seems to unlock something powerful within him. While the God of Mischief’s new powers have yet to be revealed, they’re sure to put him on the same playing field as his adoptive brother.
3) G’iah

The Skrulls pose a major threat to any planet because they can shape-shift, allowing them to hide in plain sight. But most members of the species don’t want to harm anyone. Gravik doesn’t fit into that category, and after he gets a power-up, Talos’ daughter, G’iah, is forced to do the same, coming into contact with the Harvest, a collection of DNA that gives her the abilities of numerous MCU characters, including Thanos and Captain Marvel. It remains to be seen if G’iah will get to flex her impressive muscles again, but as it stands, there are very few who can stand against her.
2) Adam Warlock

Adam Warlock’s MCU debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 isn’t all that impressive. He gets knocked around a bit while chasing the Guardians and doesn’t really show off the abilities that his comic book counterpart is known for. However, Adam comes out of his cocoon early, meaning he still has room to grow. There’s no doubt that, once he has a grasp on his power, he will become one of the most dangerous beings in the galaxy.
1) Franklin Richards

Despite only being a few years old in The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ post-credits scene, Franklin Richards is redefining what power means in the MCU. Having access to the Power Cosmic means that Reed Richards and Susan Storm’s son has limitless potential, which villains will try to exploit. They’d better get their shots in while they can because it won’t be long before Franklin is shutting down their schemes without putting down his juice box.
