The late Robin Williams had many memorable roles throughout his storied career, befitting an actor of his intense work ethic. It’s no surprise that he’d recorded many yet-to-be-seen performances up until his death.

Years later, his final role is set to be released as a talking dog belonging to a man gifted god-like powers by bureaucratic aliens who want to destroy the earth. Classic Robin Williams.

The film Absolutely Anything already released in the UK in 2015 but it is now due to hit theaters stateside on May 12 thanks to Atlas Distribution. โ€จโ€จ

Directed and co-written by Monty Python‘s Terry Jones, the film is about a council of aliens all voiced by other members of the British comedy troupe (John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, et al) who are debating whether or not Earth should be destroyed.

They decide to give the planet a test by bestowing one random human with the power of a godโ€”their deciding vote determined by whether he uses the power altruistically or succumbs to evil.

Simon Pegg’s character receives the gift and, subsequently, gives his dog the ability to speak. Of course, Williams voices the dog. โ€จโ€จThe film also stars Kate Beckinsale, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Eddie Izzard, and Rob Riggle.

Absolutely Anything will be a limited release and judging by the trailer it appears to be pretty damn funny. Williams’ voice acting appears to be one of the highlights of the film, so it deserves a good audience to give it a chance.

A disillusioned school teacher suddenly finds he has the ability to do anything he wishes – a challenge bestowed upon him by power-crazed aliens, watching him from space.
