When she’s not busy playing the Deadliest Woman in the Galaxy in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, actress Zoe Saldana is slated to reprise her role in the upcoming Avatar sequels. With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premiering just over two weeks away, Saldana will get a little chance to rest before heading back to set. This time, she’ll be filming Avatar 2.

The long-awaited follow-up to 2009’s Oscar-winning Avatar, Avatar 2 — and the two films following it — are slated to begin filming this summer.
When approached about the timeline for production on the movie, Saldana told Screen Rant that she’s getting excited to get back to Pandora.
“We haven’t shot it yet. Anything I can tell you about Avatar 2,3,4,5? We’re going to start this summer,” Saldana said. “Late summer, and it’s probably going to go all the way until early next year shooting, and I’m really excited about it.”
Nearly ten years in the making, James Cameron‘s Avatar sequels are slated to film at once. The second Avatar film was slated to debut last year but has since been pushed back twice.
Avatar 2 does not yet have a release date, but we should be hopeful to see it in 2019, ten years after the original film came out.
