Power Rangers opening day isn’t that far away, and Lionsgate is celebrating the incoming live-action reboot with five new TV spots. While there are still some mysteries to discover, what is readily apparent is that this new version of the team is a far cry from the previous film effort, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie.

In the “Surprise” TV spot, there’s a glimpse of what seems like the first encounter with Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks), as the teens are all in regular clothes. Fans also get a quick glimpse of the Zords in action, but not much else is new in this one. The second TV spot, called “Electrifying”, doesn’t add much new footage either but does show a bit more of Alpha 5 and the Megazord Goldar fight at the end.
The third spot, “Thrilling”, has the newest footage to share, including a closeup of the throwdown between Rita’s forces and the Red Ranger’s Tyrannosaurus Dinozord and the Pink Ranger’s Pterodactyl Dinozord. The fourth spot, “Cool”, gives a bit more footage of the Ranger’s transformation, as well as a new line from Alpha 5. The last spot, aptly titled “oops”, shows that the Zords aren’t exactly easy to control, though to be fair it’s not like they’ve had plenty of time to get used to them. In any case, hope the guy in the film has insurance.
