Castle Canceled By ABC After Eight Seasons

Looks like ABC is cleaning house, as the network has announced the cancellation of several series, including the long-running Castle.

It was already known that co-lead Stana Katic and fellow original cast member Tamala Jones were not returning, but many had expected the series to continue on with Nathan Fillion. Even after Katic and Jones' departure was announced, ABC Studios had negotiated deals with Nathan Fillion and co-stars Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas to return for a potential Season 9.

However, ABC has elected to not renew series, and the Castle Season 8 finale on May 16 will now become a series finale.
