Last week at Fan Expo Canada 2015, Karen Gillan discussed the extensive fighting training she went through to prepare for her role as the villainous Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy, and revealed that she may not have to shave her head for the sequel.

"I can say, that I have not read the script yet," Gillan said when if she could share anything about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. "I will be back. And I still don't know if I'm going to be bald or not." The interviewer cut in, "There's a possibility you won't be?" She then gave a carefully worded response, "There's a possibility. I don't know why or how, but there is."

What does she mean by that? There are a couple of possibilities. One, Nebula could have hair in the sequel. But that wouldn't make much sense as Gunn said "No" to a fan last month who requested the director give Nebula hair in the sequel. Two, Gillan may or may not have to shave her hair because the film's world-class makeup artists have come up with an alternative approach to making Gillan a chrome-dome. However, we know a bald cap is out of the question. In 2013, Gunn said on Formspring, "A bald cap looks fake when seen repeatedly up close and during long action sequences."

Listen to Gillan's comments in the video below.

James Gunn (Slither, Super), director of 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, will return to write and direct the sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
