Pacific Rim Photos Hint at Kaiju's Impact on the World

The Pacific Rim Facebook page has uploaded a pair of new photos that give a sense of the impact that the kaiju attacks in the film have had on the world the story takes place in. the photo at left, showing a recovery worker's gloved hand covered in some kind of substance, warns fans "This is as close as you ever want to get to Kaiju blood." Meanwhile, a crater (shown below) is formed on a beach via a news broadcast. The massive footprint (?), surrounded by a handful of bystanders, gives a sense for the monster's scope. Directed by Guillermo del Toro, Pacific Rim will set these monsters up to face an army of Jaegers, giant robots created by the world's militaries for the express purpose of taking the kaiju down.
