The Flash Casts Tom Cavanagh

is reporting that Tom Cavanagh (Ed) has been cast in the pilot episode of The Flash. Cavanagh will play genius physicist Harrison Wells. Wells is the both the brains and wallet behind S.T.A.R. Lab's particle accelerator in Central City. The lab's explosion turns him into an outcast, but he finds his path to redemption when he learns that the explosion also created the Flash. The pilot has nearly completed its casting process, following news that Jesse L. Martin will play Detective West and Candice Patton will play his daughter, Iris. That leaves only one main role – Harley Rathaway – left to cast. The Flash is a spinoff of Arrow starring the DC Comics speedster, Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin). The pilot is currently in development, with a script written by Arrow's Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and DC Entertainment's Chief-Creative-Officer Geoff Johns.
