Dean Ambrose Retains WWE Championship At SummerSlam

"The Lunatic Fringe" Dean Ambrose is still your WWE Champion after hitting the Dirty Deeds on Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.

WWE's workhorse Dolph Ziggler became number one contender almost a month ago and the feud between him and Ambrose has grew and grew and finally culminated at SummerSlam, but at a losing effort. Ziggler gave solid offense throughout, but wasn't able to keep the champion down, even after nailing his signature move, the Zig-Zag.

The two competitors went back and forth for almost twenty minutes until the champion Ambrose was able to execute his Dirty Deeds DDT finisher on Ziggler, claiming the pinfall victory.

We'll have to see Tuesday night on SmackDown! Live if Ziggler will be granted a rematch for the championship, or if Ambrose will face a new challenger in the weeks to come.
