During an appearance at Phoenix Comic-Con, an unstable man intended to shoot the star but was apprehended after word of his intentions was reported to security. Frank spoke to The Roman Show during his appearance at Florida Supercon, where he explained how the experience has manifested a new role for him.

“Phoenix Comic-con is super safe over there. All the cons are getting together to make sure things don’t happen at Comic-Cons. Things can happen around the world. People don’t need to apologize because it’s a security factor at the show. If we can stop that stuff at the door then we can have a good thing, but this is a place where kids and people come for comic books. You could drop your guard, but sometimes in this world you can see a lot of things happen like in Manchester and with all these sports around the world, Comic-Cons need to be treated the same. It’s like a sports event. We shouldn’t have people coming in with guns. So I am like this Comic-con safety ambassador, which I get a lot of heat from a lot of people. There shouldn’t be heat on it. We just need to keep the cons safe.”

Comic-Cons have started to take more security measures, like checking props and Cosplay accessories and gear upon entry to the show. That said, a few more security measures most likely wouldn’t hurt, as no one wants anything to take away from the fun and joy a good con can provide.

Frank loves going to conventions and meeting the fans, and won’t stop doing so anytime soon. When he was asked which Ranger he prefers, Green or White, Frank said”Green is probably more dominating now because the older fans are, ya know, we probably dominate the age demographics there, being a Green Ranger fan. So Green was definitely really cool for me, but being the White Ranger was exciting as well.”

While those two will always dominate, he has noticed an upswing in Dino Thunder fans.

“What’s happening now is that 16 to 17-year-old kids, Doctor Oliver, Dino Thunder, Black Dino Thunder,” said Frank. “Any other Ranger? Nope, started on Black Dino Thunder and then they have all of the other seasons that I don’t really know much about, but it’s crazy to see the generations.”
