Star Wars Rebels has officially been renewed for a fourth season, the Star Wars UK Twitter account announced Friday. They appear to have let the announcement go early, as the link to an associated StarWars.com article goes to a 404 on the site (Update: the press release officially went out in the U.S. and the official site's story is live). Season 4 will continue to air on Disney XD, starting off this Autumn 2017.

A fourth season has been teased, with EP Dave Filoni repeatedly saying he has more stories to tell with the crew of the Ghost, from the story of Sabine Wren fighting for the freedom of the Mandalorians (and the return of a Mando from Star Wars: The Clone Wars), to making sure he had a satisfying conclusion to the stories of the rest of the core crew like Ezra, Kanan, Hera, and Zeb. Filoni even teased that he'd like Star Wars Rebels to run right into the story of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, telling the tale of the Battle of Scarif from the perspective of Hera, Chopper, and any other surviving members of the crew.

Still, fans have been anxiously awaiting actual confirmation, and now they have it, albeit a little early and unconventionally.

As for season three, it comes to a conclusion this month, with only four weeks of episodes left. This week features Mon Mothma, the Rebel Alliance leader, on the show, and a couple of major moves forward towards the events of the original trilogy. Next week focuses on the droids, AP-4 and Chopper, and some more Imperial insight. Then we head to Tatooine, and finally see what should be the last showdown between Darth Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Finally, Grand Admiral Thrawn launches his attack, and let's be frank, the Ghost crew is in considerable trouble.

More details on Season 4 should be popping up later today, and we expect the show to appear at Star Wars Celebration Orlando in April.

Star Wars Rebels airs Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on Disney XD, and follows the adventures of Hera (Vanessa Marshall), Sabine (Tiya Sircar), Zeb (Steve Blum), and the Jedi Kanan (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) and Ezra (Taylor Gray), a small crew that's finding their way in the nascent Rebel Alliance a few years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. Executive produced by Simon Kinberg and Dave Filoni, the in-canon series helps to connect the worlds of the films and the previous animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, with guest appearances so far by characters like Lando Calrissian, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Leia Organa, Wedge Antilles, and more.
