Star Wars and collectibles go hand-in-hand. They always have. This is the reason why Star Wars is the only film franchise that dedicates an entire day of the year to releasing a new line of toys.
So, when the biggest Star Wars gathering of the year rolls around - Star Wars Celebration in Orlando - it's no surprise that the event will hold some great exclusive toys. This year, it looks like Funko outdid themselves.
The toy-making company has risen to the top of the ranks of collectible manufacturers, and they come up with exclusives for just about everything you can think of. This week, Funko debuted their first wave of Star Wars Celebration exclusives, and they're out of this world.
The most notable addition is the deluxe Rey POP figure. This iteration sees the main character in her scavenger gear - goggles and all - and riding her unique speeder.
The new line also includes a younger Han Solo POP, a spirit-version of Qui Gon Jinn, and a few other droid and soldier figures.
To see the a detailed version of each of these figures, head to the gallery below! Be sure to check back on Thursday, as Funko is expected to announce the second wave of celebration exclusives.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi, from writer/director Rian Johnson, is in post-production now for a December 15, 2017 release.
The film follows-up and continues the story of the next generation of the saga as Rey, Poe, Finn, and Kylo Ren find their place in the galaxy and follow the legacy of Luke Skywalker, Leia, and Han Solo. Daisy Ridley returns to star as Rey, with other returning stars John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Mayhew, Andy Serkis, Anthony Daniels, Lupita Nyong'o Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa. Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern join the cast in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
