When tickets for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story go on sale on Monday at 12:01 a.m. EST, fans in North America can be fully armed and operational to see the film opening weekend and beyond. But if they choose to spring for tickets in IMAX theaters, they can come away from it all with a few bonuses.
Fans who head to Regal Cinemas IMAX theaters on 12/15 (Thursday preview night), 12/24, or 12/31 will receive a a collectible ticket. The "First Showing Experience" ticket features the new Imperial Death Trooper, and star and team leader Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). The following two weeks' tickets feature a Shoretrooper and the droid K-2SO, and a stormtrooper and Captain Cassian Andor. The three tickets interconnect for a "megaticket" collectible in a nice triptych.
At AMC, the giveaways are occuring on alternate days: 12/18, 12/25, and 1/1, so if you live near both theater chains, you could potentially pick up both sets of giveaways. AMC has special IMAX Rogue One posters, each featuring most of the primary cast.
The fourth, previously revealed IMAX poster will be given out at any other IMAX theater in US and Canada on opening night.
IMAX also announced IMAX 2D 70mm projection screenings at select theaters across the country. Director Gareth Edwards did choose to shoot this movie on film, so the 70mm projections should be special. Most of those are in museums across the country; you can see the full list on IMAX.com.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits US theaters December 16, 2016. Directed by Gareth Edwards, it's the first of the new standalone features from Lucasfilm and Disney, which take place outside the core "Skywalker Saga" of films noted by an Episode number. Rogue Onetells the story of the small band of rebels that were tasked with stealing the plans to the first Death Star. The story spins directly off the opening crawl from the original Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. In that crawl, it read: "Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet."
