Star Wars detectives will find clues in just about anything, and many thought they had uncovered one such clue in the film's score by the legendary John Williams.

In Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, there were subtle hints at Darth Vader's music throughout "Rey's Theme", and using previous soundtracks as a base, Youtube user The Spanish Composer had deduced that to mean that Rey is possibly Vader's granddaughter.

Not to say that isn't true, but it wasn't something that was intentional. At a recent event with the Boston Pops Orchestra, Williams told fans in attendance that: "I never asked J.J. Abrams who Rey's father is, but I think it's Luke Skywalker. Your guess is as good as mine, though."

Williams isn't the only one in the dark, as Editor Maryann Brandon (via Slashfilm) is also unsure who Rey's parents are, saying: I actually don't know. I am not even sure that they know. J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan weren't talking about it. They shifted back and forth and they haven't talked about it. Your guess is as good as mine. In some films that are serialized, we change things all the time. We start with one intention and suddenly, you know what, scrap that idea, let's change who everyone is."

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
