Odds are you’ve heard the rumors that an Obi-Wan spin-off film is in development, and that it will focus on his time on Tatooine between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. If this does happen, Ewan McGregor is the only actor for the job, and they should model his appearance after this Mythos Obi-Wan figure from Sideshow Collectibles.

The sixth-scale figure is actually an adaptation of Sideshow’s legendary Mythos Obi-Wan statue, which sold out long ago and has since become a highly sought-after collectible. Both projects were made with Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor in mind. Speaking with StarWars.com, Kevin Ellis, project manager for Sideshow’s 1:6 scale series, noted that the head sculpt is a balance between "aging down" Alec Guinness’s features from A New Hope, and adding in some of Ewan McGregor’s features from the end of Revenge of the Sith.
The figure is also toting around some fun items like Clone Wars armor and Anakin and Qui-Gon’s lightsabers. Even the buckle and the pouch on Obi-Wan’s belt is a nod to what he wore in A New Hope.
Needless to say, this figure is going to fly off the shelves, so mark your calendar for September 21st between 12PM and 3PM PST to take a shot at securing one for yourself during the pre-order period.
