Bad Lip Reading is one of the better Internet video series out there right now, having taken the concept of inaccurate movie dubbing to hilarious new levels. The most popular movie series in pop-culture are all fair game for some BLR lampooning, and Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back is the latest target.

Rather than do a funny rendition of a handful of dialogue scenes, The Empire Strikes Back lip reading turns Luke Skywalker’s training with Master Yoda in the Dagobah System into a hilarious cantina-style song.

The jingle is pretty catchy, as well as being laden with the sort of irreverent concepts that is the real key component of BLR’s formula. A seagull song with a chorus about Yoda being a backpack buddy is funny enough – but lines like “You’re a psycho wiener! / Let me grab my beater!” are just icing on an already sweet cake.

Things culminate beautifully when the iconic scene of Luke and Yoda discussing the former’s fear in facing Darth Vader is transformed into trash talk about Yoda’s singing, followed by a creepy threat from the old Jedi master, warning Luke he better not sleep. Classic.
