Fans who were looking forward to a potential appearance from Lucasfilm at this year's San Diego Comic-Con might be disappointed to learn their presence will be restricted to a booth on the show floor, and that they won't be featuring Star Wars on a panel.
The Unofficial SDCC Blog asked Lucasfilm after word came out on their podcast that Star Wars: The Last Jedi (or the Han Solo spinoff) would not be presented at Hall H this year, to which the House That George Built responded "Our presence at SDCC 2017 will be focused on our booth on the convention floor, so there will be no press events or interview opportunities this year."
That's going to sting the big Star Wars fans making the trek to San Diego this month, but keep in mind that Disney's own D23 Expo will be taking place in Anaheim the previous week. Star Wars is set to have a huge presence there, with a new trailer for The Last Jedi likely to premiere during the event.
Lucasfilm wowed fans at their big showcase of Star Wars: The Force Awakens during their Hall H presentation in 2015, ending the presentation by escorting the attendees to an outdoor concert of Star Wars music conducted by the San Diego Symphony.

While everyone is eager to see Kathleen Kennedy pull out all of the stops once again, fans will have to wait until at least 2018.
It's a bummer that Lucasfilm will not present their forthcoming Star Wars movie at the convention, but that's not the only thing Star Wars fans have to look forward to. EA will likely be on hand for Battlefront II, and Disney might also have presentations for Star Wars Rebels and Forces of Destiny.
We'll learn more as Comic-Con rapidly approaches and Disney announces their panels and showcases for the event.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres theaters December 15.
