The Room’s Tommy Wiseau Invades Star Wars Films

The folks at Pistol Shrimps have taken footage of Tommy Wiseau as Johnny from The Room — the 2003 cult classic that ranks right up there with The Phantom Menace as one of the greatest so-bad-it’s-good films of all-time — and inserted him into the Star Wars universe.

It begins with Johnny replacing Rey at the end The Force Awakens. He approaches a cloaked Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill), telling him how he didn’t hit Lisa — his beautiful and unfaithful fiance — and delivers his signature line: “Oh, hi Mark.” He then asks about Jedi’s sex life and tosses him a football, which perfectly bounces off Luke’s head as he stares amazed and conflicted at Johnny.

The next scene is from Revenge of the Sith and features Wiseau and Hayden Christensen apparently competing for the award for worst actor ever. While Christensen does his best with an over-dramatic and whiny take on Anakin Skywalker, Wiseau takes the top prize when he screams with all of his might: “YOU’RE TEARING ME APART!”

Additionally, Johnny greets Chewbacca with: “Hi, doggie,” and, using footage from The Last Jedi trailer, pesters Luke about finding a girl and hits him in the noggin again with the football. Hilarious!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi, from writer/director Rian Johnson, is in post-production now for a December 15, 2017, release. The film follows-up and continues the story of the next generation of the saga as Rey, Poe, Finn, and Kylo Ren find their place in the galaxy and follow the legacy of Luke Skywalker, Leia, and Han Solo. Daisy Ridley returns to star as Rey, with other returning stars John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Mayhew, Andy Serkis, Anthony Daniels, Lupita Nyong’o Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa. Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern join the cast in as-yet-unrevealed roles.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is slated for release on December 15, 2017. Han Solo: A Star Wars Story hits on May 25, 2018, while Star Wars: Episode IX has a release date of May 24, 2019.
