When we last saw Eugene Porter, he was taken hostage by Negan in the midseason finale of The Walking Dead. The mullet man with the ability to make bullets cost Lucille her pretty face (by the transitive property: through Rosita) and has been brought back to the Sanctuary.

In a new clip from the Hostiles and Calamities episode which is set to air on, Negan is intimidating Eugene outside of his compound.
“Well, Eugene, I know you remember Lucille,” Negan said before pointing out the bullet lodged in the bat. “Now under normal circumstances, I’d be showing you that real close over and over again. But, Eugene, all I really wanna know is if you are a smarty pants.”
Eugene quickly responds and tells Negan, “I am indeed a smarty pants.”
“If knowledge is dropped, I do indeed pick it up,” Eugene said to conclude the clip.
The official synopsis for Hostiles and Calamities teases Eugene’s scary new home, reading, “An Alexandrian finds themselves having to navigate the mysterious, confusing, and terrifying world within The Saviors’ compound.”
