Directed by Danis Villeneuve, the Blade Runner sequel will be based on Philip K. Dick’s novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? The film boasts a large cast with actors such as Harrison Ford returning to the franchise. Other talent like Robin Wright, Ryan Gosling, Dave Bautista, Mackenzie Davis, Barkhad Abdi, and more will be featured in Blade Runner 2. Filming began on production earlier this July, and it’s expected be released in October 2017.
As of right now, there’s no news as to who Lennie will be playing. The cast of Blade Runner has remained tight-lipped about the film’s story. The project’s screenplay will be written by Michael Green and Hampton Fancher, the latter having co-wrote the original Blade Runner. Director Scott Ridley will not be returning to direct the sequel, but Alcon Entertainment has spoken about how excited they are to have Villeneuve take control of the project.
