Rumor has it that this week’s episode of The Walking Dead will be a little on the lighter side. This news is a relief to audiences after the season premiere last Sunday was an emotional and gore-filled rollercoaster.

The episode, titled The Well, will take us away from Rick and his group for a bit. Instead of following their tragedy and misfortune, The Well will give us a chance to see what Morgan and Carol have been up to.
When we last saw the pair, they had been picked up by some men on horseback in the season six finale. Since then, we’ve learned that these men are soldiers for The Kingdom, and they will be taking Morgan and Carol back to their community.
Previews for this episode have confirmed that we will be meeting at least two new characters, but probably more. King Ezekiel, the leader of The Kingdom, and his pet tiger named Shiva will definitely be making their debuts.
What else can we expect from The Well on Sunday? Take a look through the slideshow for five of our predictions.
Shiva’s Hungry
From the looks for the trailer, and the backgroud of the comic books, Shiva is an utter beast.ย
The tiger known as Shiva is the pet of King Ezekiel, and she sits beside his throne to protect him. Her roar from the trailer is ferocious, and serves as a warning call for any enemy.
The only tease we’ve had has been Shiva’s roar, but we’re thinking her bite is just as terrifying. She can’t just be for show, and Ezekiel will likely use her power if a situation gets dangerous.
Once Ezekiel and his friends get caught up in a confrontation this week, look for them to assert their power to their enemy, as well as to the audience.ย
All that to say, we’re thinking Shiva will tear someone apart this week.
Budding Love
In the comics, Michonne and Ezekiel fell in love a few issues after meeting. Michonne’s first impression of The King definitely wasn’t great, but he found a way to warm her heart up.
The leader of The Kingdom wanted a strong woman by his side, and he was attracted to Michonne’s tenacity despite the fact that she was rude to him.
Since Michonne is with Rick on the show, this love is unlikely. Since Carol is the one heading to The Kingdom, and her character is in a similar place to Michonne’s comic alternative, she’s probably going to start a similar relationship.
Carol is a skeptic, and won’t fall for any of The King’s antics. Once she speaks her mind, look for Ezekiel to get a little cozy with her.
Nothing will happen between the two in this episode, but a love should begin building for future episodes.
Morgan’s Agony
Morgan has been an agent of peace since he arrived back onย the show, but the season six finale saw him kill a man while defending Carol. He did what anyone would have done, even someone committed to peace, but he went a little too far on the tail end of things.
After killing the man with one shot, Morgan continued to pull the trigger and unload the clip. It seemed at that moment, Morgan was beginning to crack.
He should be in a good place after where his journey has taken him, but that can’t ever last on The Walking Dead.
Morgan has had a lot go wrong in his past, so look for that gun in season six to become a catalyst going forward. There’s a chance we will get a very different Morgan this year.
Fight With The Saviors
The Saviors are the vicious army of men led by the new villain, Negan. We saw a lot of their forces trapping Rick in season six, but we also know there are more out there.
These men have terrorized Hilltop for years, so it stands to reason that they probably have some control over The Kingdom as well.
If there’s any kind of conflict or battle in this episode, it’s going to be between a group of Saviors and Ezekiel’s army. This will continue to show the force of the Saviors, while also setting a strong backbone for The Kingdom.
If something does happen to erupt, don’t think it will last very long. If you mess with the Saviors, you will be punished. Ezekiel is too smart to make that kind of mistake this early.
You Will Have A New Favorite Character
We’ve talked a lot about King Ezekiel in this article, and that’s for good reason. His impact in the comics is immediately felt, and is unique personality and charisma drew fans to him quickly.ย
From everything we’ve seen of Khary Payton’s performance as the king, it seems as though he will bring the character to life in the most perfect way.
Now that fans have lost the two most light-hearted characters on the show, they will need a charismatic new-comer to replace them. If you were wondering how you will ever live without Glenn, King Ezekiel is your answer.
